Sergei Mikhailovich Kamanin (1915-2002)
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1968). Professor (1969), painter.
He studied in the Yaroslavl Art School (1932-1935), the Moscow Art College of memory 1905 (1936-1939), the Art Department at the State Institute of Cinematography (1939-1943) at the FS Bogorodsky. Thesis VGIK - design sketches of the film "Boris Godunov" (Head BV Dubrovsky-Eksjö).
Participated in exhibitions since 1947.
Solo exhibitions were held in 1956 (Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region), 1957, 1959, 1966, 1974 and 1983 (Moscow), 1962 and 1963 (Tula). In 1960 he took part in the exhibition "Soviet Russia" in Moscow.
He taught at the Art Department State Institute of Cinematography in 1943 (from 1969 - professor).

The artist's works are represented in the Tretyakov Gallery, Gorky Art Museum, the Ministry of Culture, private collections in Russia and abroad.
