. Myasoedov, Ivan G. (1881-1953), Russian painter, master paintings and drawings, representative of symbolism and Art Nouveau. Born in Kharkov, September 30 (12 October) 1881, a family of the painter G. Myasoedova (see Myasoedov, Grigory). From 1889 he lived with his mother in childbirth Manor Pavlenko at Poltava. In 1884-1895 attended a private art school, organized in Poltava his father. Later studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1896-1901) and the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1903, 1907-1909). Participated in the writing of the Battle of Borodino Panorama (led by FA Roubaud, 1910). In early paintings Myasoedova dominated by Hellenistic-mythological canvases, similar in style to the German Art Nouveau style, with its Nietzschean motifs (the Argonauts, 1908, Museum of Russia Academy of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg). Fascinated weightlifting and nudism, remembering all this passion in the photographs - with himself as the ideal of the ancient hero. Promoted the beauty of the naked body, published a manifesto about it in the collection Nudity on stage under the editorship of N. Evreinov (St. Petersburg, 1911). He served as artistic correspondent in the Army AI Denikin (1919). Evacuated from the Crimea to Constantinople, from 1921 he lived in Berlin, where he was arrested for making counterfeit money and more than two years spent in prison in 1933 was again convicted on similar charges. Replacing several places of residence, in 1938 settled in Vaduz (Liechtenstein) with a passport in the name of Eugene Zotov; since signing his work this way. Led the life of the court artist, creating portraits of the local princely house and designs of postage stamps. He also wrote colorful landscapes and still lifes. By the same modernist mythologies and allegories added a series of some kind of "historical nightmares - from revolutions and wars, embodied in the dark of the stage humanoid gorilla (Revolution, a crowd of demons, both works - the 1940's, the Foundation Zotov-Myasoedova, Vaduz). To these compositions is adjacent to a cycle of symbolic splash created during this period Myasoyedov roomy philosophical work (not yet published Encyclopedia obscheutverzhdayuschih concepts), where he was subjected to all of modern civilization withering criticism from the standpoint of mystical anarchism. In 1948, the artist once again brought to trial because the passport on which he rode in Liechtenstein, was forged. This time he escaped with only a conditional sentences. Died Myasoedov in Buenos Aires on July 27, 1953. |
