Ring with pink diamond weighing 5 carats sold at auction for a record 10.8 million dollars. Bidding Christie's, which sold the ring, took place the evening of 1 December in Hong Kong.
Jewel inserted into a ring of platinum and rose gold and framed by two transparent diamonds, was purchased by an anonymous buyer who participated in the bidding by telephone. Stone set an absolute record for diamonds by value per carat weight, behaved with May 2009: then the blue diamond weighing 7.03 carats, was sold for 10,5 million dollars.

At the auction also set a record for sapphires at a cost of one carat weight: a ring with a sapphire weighing 16.65 carats was sold for 2,4 million dollars. One of the most expensive lots of trades became clear unmounted diamond weighing 16.99 carats, sold for 2.9 million dollars.

Total trading in precious stones and products brought to Christie's $ 48 million. As noted by the agency, the day before the end of the five-day Hong Kong auction auction house, selling a variety of subjects - from vintage wines to watch - the Asian auctions Christie's have already brought about 201,2 million dollars.
