counter-question, and flora (plants /botany), and Ukrainian countryside?
Normally, when describing the age, the century is divided at least three parts: beginning, middle and end, in this case, the 19 th century.
What is specific in describing this work?

Women's traditional costume of the Ukrainians has many local variants.

Basis of Ukrainian women's costume is a shirt - Koszul shirt. It is longer than the male and consists of two parts - the lower part (pidtichka) sewn from a rough matter. Shirts Ukrainian highlanders-Boykov and Lemco kroilis of two
parts and worn separately. There are the Ukrainians and one-piece shirt (dodilni) - they are women the pretty and festive.

Shirts with collars and sewed without them. The last type of shirt - the most ancient - the gate of such a shirt is usually met in small assembly and sometimes sheathed on top. Shirt collar is Polish.
Distinctive feature of the Ukrainian Women's shirts - custom jewelry hem, rims (podpodolnitsy) shirts with embroidery, as He was visible from under the outerwear. It is also adorned the sleeves of his shirt, especially at the joints with the shoulder sleeves,
where Policom (set point) was a piece of cloth embroidered with more square shape. Wide sleeves end with cuff (chohla) at the wrist. As has long been the established custom of the Eastern Slav girls under the age of fifteen, and even before the wedding were only belted shirt, putting on the belt clothing (skirts) was associated with marriage and the transition into the category of women.

Skirts - Common Slavonic element of traditional clothing, covering the body of a woman in the back and fastened at the waist. At Ukrainians, there were three varieties of this type of clothing: Casual, without drawing the reserve, tugging and festive dress in plaid - Plakhtiy. Derg consisted of three long sides of cloth sewn together, forming themselves in a fabric strip 3 m wide and 60-70 cm in length, covering the woman's body behind him and bandaged with a belt. Since jerk - casual wear, it was made from black or undyed cloth, no decorate.

Ukrainian stepney jerk differed from that of its upper corners are often sewn ribbons are tied at the waist. Usually worn two chute, often - in different colors: one (pozadnitsya, ass) covered the body behind, the other (poperednitsya) - already the first, put on the front - it often replaced with an apron. Spare wheel made from high quality and fine wool and a continuous fabric of blue, green, red. Plakhtiy as festive clothes made of plaid fabric ornamentation of its hand-embroidered wool or silk thread. In the early period are known plakhta, sewn from silk or of gold and silver brocade.

Further evolution of the skirts is skirt (spidnitsya). In Polesie were widely woolen skirts - andaraki, often striped ornament.
A striking addition to the female costumes were breast ornaments made of precious stones, glass beads or pendants with the coins - "necklace", "dukachi.

World renown enjoyed Ukrainian wreaths of artificial and natural flowers with ribbons as a girl's headdress. Along with them were known and others: a metal wire with pendants, belt, scarf, piece of silver or gold brocade, a cardboard circle, etc. All of them - a circular or semicircular shape.

Girls' hats are not covered her head and her hair - the latter is the main hair Ukrainian girls. Cherkasy wife are on the head of small cap of colorful cloth, and tie a bandage over the add, whose back from the node
hanging embroidered loposti. The girls weave their hair is not like Russia's in one, but in two braids that entwine around the head and tie colorful bandage, which vynizana beads. On the women wore head first "ochipok (povoynik)
contracting on his head, then embraced the head of a cotton handkerchief, tying the ends of his forehead, and the girls - under the chin and ochipka were not on holidays, instead of headscarf worn piece of colored ribbons and they also decorated the entire braid.

The subject of folk art should be considered as Ukrainian embroidery. It is widely used in folk costume and in the home. Embroidery Ukrainian costume is rich and diverse. She decorated the women's and men's shirts, outerwear, hats. Motives of ornaments, composition, color, passed from generation to generation, becoming a tradition.
The ornamental motifs were geometric (diamonds, rosettes, stars), plant. A variant of the latest technology is widespread in Ukraine embroidery.
Well-known technique virizuvannya usually used with other kinds of embroidery. In addition to aesthetic value, embroidery on the clothes often labeled the age of people, their family and social situation. For colors embroidered Ukrainian shirt can be divided into one-color, two-color and polychrome. The first characteristic of Poland, Chernigov and Poltava, two-color - mainly for Kyiv and most of Podolia, polychrome - for the Western Podolia and the Carpathians. Embroidery northern part of Ukraine (northern Chernihiv and Volyn) is characteristic red color. Embroidery these areas is similar to Russian and bulorusskoy. In the middle
area of the Ukraine (South of Chernigov, Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv region, the northern regions of Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson) red color is found, along with the blue, rarely - with black. In the southern areas of this color joins yellow. In Podolia black color occurs in conjunction with the Reds. In the areas bordering Bessarabia and Bukovina, meets embroidery enriched with beads and metal ornaments that converges with the Moldovan and South Slavic. 15 Transcarpathian woven products are adjacent to the Belarusian-Russian. At Hutsulshchyna received multilateral development typical of all the eastern Slavs reception ornamentation of fabrics in the form of alternating smooth and ornamented stripes and borders. In the Ukrainian artistic weaving widely developed plant ornament, a favorite motif for this has branched flower or tree. This motif is characteristic for towels and for the carpet, distributed in Ukraine everywhere, but especially in central and eastern The seat areas.
In the late XIX - early XX centuries. Ukrainians went to the city suit, and many features of the national traditional clothing were lost.

Diverse and colorful clothing was popular in Ukraine. Women's costume consisted of an embroidered shirt (shirt) and waist dress - jerk, spare wheel, plakhta, from 19 in skirts .- (spidnitsy), which in cold weather added sleeveless (korsetki,
kiptari etc.). Girls braided hair in a braid, was placed around his head, decorated with flowers, a wreath of paper flowers and colorful ribbons. Women wore various types of bonnets, covering them with a long towel shaped shawl or a scarf.

Crown - the main attribute Ukrainian costume. Crown - one of the key attributes of female Ukrainian national costume, along with Plakhtiy and red boots. Wreath - a symbol of purity, youth and purity, it is also an integral part of the wedding ceremony. Wedding symbolism of the wreath is reflected in the girls' love of magic and divination of marriage, the custom of girl handing a wreath as a token of betrothal, in the ritual use of wreaths at the wedding.

Yes, me too, but apparently Ukrainian girls and their temperament is very similar to the Italians, and in the 19 century, some artists "Italianate" South Russian women Valais, no? Here, for example, two of the TG Shevchenko, by the way, and a ribbon in her hair, not a wreath.

But nothing is written. Simply "German school". Neither age nor the author, nor even the frame, just the photo of the canvas. Regarding the flora, it is quite local, with a slight touch of romance. Such vegetation and topography are also present in Germany, and near Kiev, and near Prague. None of the Mediterranean is not observed. Here are two fragments.

I still think that the work of some sort ... not quite alive, if so, frozen ... written technically literate, but without a soul. Maybe, hence the definition of "German school"? Or is it a varnish?

perhaps.
In my opinion, this work for commercial reasons, not very promising.
N /A, who and where is drawn is not clear - not fish, not meat.
For myself personally, if you like, another conversation.

Petersburg Academy, too, the German school. Fastest painting removed by the fascists during the war and because of the small thin. values fell to the west and went on the knuckles. Close to Briullov, its influence.
