"Russian Beauty" was one of the most emotional show, among those that could see the beginning of 2009. And surely the most memorable. The idea of curators Gleb Yershov and Stanislav Savitsky is simple and brilliant: to show national theme, but not flirting with export motifs and cliches. Roughly speaking, no Sots-art, khokhloma and other simple politico-matreshechnyh recipes, so loved by the commercial public. Plus, no "itinerants". In the same "stop-list" will soon be time to turn on and flirting with the Russian poor. " But still can. On the whole challenge was to show the Russian theme by other means, without the special calculation to understand the "international" audience. Finally got a little cozy "anti-Biennale" - an exhibition, not drowned either in sarcasm, or in self-flagellation, or in messianism.
