Museum of archeology of Moscow was opened after reconstruction

the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin in a solemn ceremony was opened after a major refurbishment the Museum of archeology of Moscow at the Manege square.
In opening ceremony took part the head of the Department of culture of Moscow Alexander Kibovsky and CEO of the Museum Association "Moscow city Museum" Alina Saprykina. According to the mayor, in 1997, the Museum of archeology of Moscow was opened with serious disturbances, so after 15 years it was reconstructed (in the Museum replaced utilities, upgraded ventilation, lighting and fire safety, a partial reconfiguration of its interior, has an automated access control system). "Now here is the most modern Museum equipment. So I think it will be long years of serving the citizens and visitors of the capital, to delight them with its exhibits," — said at the ceremony, Mr Sobyanin.

"We are very pleased that the opening of the Museum took place today — the international day of museums," said Alina Saprykina. — This is a great gift to the entire Museum community and the citizens. After two and a half years of a complicated repair and restoration works, Muscovites and tourists will be able to finally see the Museum's unique collection, evaluate new media technology".

The Museum has developed educational program. On weekends, there will be held master-classes for children on the history of Moscow, local history. Earns the school a budding archaeologist for children from five years.

Museum of archeology of Moscow is a branch of the Museum Association "Moscow city Museum". It is located in the heart of the capital, at the Manege square. The opening of the Museum in 1997 was dedicated to the 850th anniversary of the city.
