The exhibition "Formula of the Universe" by Alexander Kedrina will be held in the "Gallery A3" from May 23 to June 2. Will feature approximately 50 paintings and unique author ceramics artist.
Art and life Kedrina foundations formed in the post-thaw years in a circle of communication with Moscow artists and poets - among friends in Tashkent were Ernst Unknown artist, Bella Ahmadulina, Erik Bulatov, Andrei Voznesensky, Vladimir Nemuhin, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Nicholas Vechtomov and many other leaders of the cultural underground 70s.

Kedrin considers pointless painting apogee in the evolution of art - a kind of mathematics that creates a universal formula that can be used to explain the world around us, space and everything else. In the non-objective compositions, he sees an opportunity for the ultimate measure of creative freedom - complete independence from the laws of the material world. A bit of a biography of the artist.

Kedrin Alexander was born in 1940 in Tashkent. In 1995, he moved to New York, where he lives today. The artist, who grew up in an artistic environment (father Veniamin - known schedule, eloped in Tashkent, the Stalinist repression, the organizer of the Union of Artists of Uzbekistan, second cousin's uncle - the famous poet Dmitry Kedrin), from a young age was interested in the non-objective art, trying to join in the work space and eastern Russia western abstract expressionism. Through participation in exhibitions in Moscow, he entered the circle of metropolitan intellectuals. This happened after the student Kedrina excluded for non-conformity of his creative method of ideological norms of the Soviet Union two consecutive top art schools in Tashkent. The third institution, he still finished with honors and became the best and most sought-after ceramist Uzbekistan. Entered into an alliance of artists and architects, has received a workshop.

Monumentalists were permitted even overtly formalist experimentation - if only it was "beautiful", that is decorative. Alexander was in his element.
