The exhibition "In all these lines , and whatever you dream ... " which Gallery "Vellum " will hold from 28 January to 24 February, in the center of "Artifact" (Prechistenka , 30 /2), will be presented about 30 works by well-known Jewish artist of the Moscow twentieth century Meera Axelrod.
The main "body" exhibited the collection - it works in black and white graphics 1920-30- ies, representing illustrations for the works of famous writers (Sholom Aleichem, Isaac Babel , Anton Chekhov , and others) , as well as sketches of towns , where he spent his childhood and youth the artist, and which left a deep impression in his life and work. Axelrod was born in 1902 in Molodechno ( Belarus), and since 1913 , he studied at the famous school I.Pena in Vitebsk.
Particular attention is drawn to tamper "stories" of those places where it had been in the second half of the XX century. First of all , this is the Baltic region, which the artist saw the "Land of the Brothers Grimm ": arched columns and skyrocketing Gothic tower on a background of azure sky.
