About the artist:
Fomichev Osipovich Basil (1924 - 1992)
Russian painter, Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
Born in the village Elohovka Tatischevskogo region Saratov region. Studied fine arts at the Palace of Pioneers izokruzhke Saratov and Saratov Art School (1939-1942), where his teachers were well-known landscape painters VF Gurov and B. Milovidov. From 1942 to 1945 he worked as a mechanic at a defense plant in 1945 continued his studies at art school. In 1947 he began independent work in the Saratov branch of art fund (up to 1953 Association of Saratov artists). In the 60 years Fomichev joined the established mature master. Working in the genre of portraiture and still life in the genre, he still was a born landscape painter. Inexhaustible source of inspiration for the artist began to expanses of the Volga. It is in Goritsy his talent of the painter revealed most fully and vividly.
Work VO Fomicheva are in museum collections, as well as in many private collections in Russia and abroad (USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Chile).
In 2009, the artist was filmed a documentary.
