A. Nashivochnikova exhibition in St. Petersburg

Yesterday, January 14, Museum of Nonconformist Art (St. Petersburg, Pushkin Str., 10), an exhibition of A. Nashivochnikova. JA is one of the brightest representatives of the school Sidlin, which is perhaps one of the few systemically important artistic movements of the Leningrad underground. Far from any social engagement has been concentrated on the development of formal tasks, the movement has posed some level of pictorial culture, one way or another define a certain trend and allowing a certain extent, to talk about this concept as the Leningrad School.
The exhibition was organized in connection with the 80th anniversary of the artist. Hero of the day present itself. It drew a lot of people: students, colleagues and viewers. They said a lot of warm and heartfelt words about the hero for the day. In general, all as it should.
The exposition was a very solid and convincing, showing a consistent, organic and uncompromising attitude of the artist in painting.

Nashivochnikov Yuri (born 1922, Pavlovsk, Voronezh Oblast.). His father - a chemist, his mother - the designer. Grew up in the village with his grandmother. With six years of living in Leningrad. Studied painting in the period 1934-1937. in the House of artistic education of children from 1936 to 1972 - in O. Sidlin in art studios Palace of Culture. Lenin and the Palace of Culture. VP Kapranov (with an interruption for military service and studying in Moscow). He studied at the Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1944-1945). He graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture InZhSA them. Repin in the studio Matveeva (1951). He worked in the "Lenreklame" under the direction of Traugot - made mannequins, taught drawing painting and sculpture in LISI (1961-1965), worked in the LGI them. Herzen researcher, lecturer at the Department tiflopedagogiki (1965-1977), led the art room for the blind in the Palace of Culture. VA Shelgunov (1977-1992). In 1992 he formed the band "Temple Wall." Formulated and outlined the main principles of school Sidlin (by some accounts, it's partly his own principles.)
His work is above all things and without a mixture of express concerns and aesthetics of the school Sidlin: I think he played all that demanding teacher. Inherited conscious work, analyticity, focus on the process itself. In his still lifes and landscapes, with their high scenic merits, is an imprint of academic work. It seems as free from their own impulses, but the will to improve themselves, to concentrate, to focus on solving the problems of painting. Among the works of his work sidlintsev distinguishable, perhaps, his laconic, generalization: few colors, "large" with respect to color, spots. They are inherent harmony of colors, closely spaced, soft, almost pastel tones. Sometimes translucent white ground of the canvas (or board, the board of compressed sawdust). He took sidlinskoe figurative relation to the subject of painting: the written nature, but it is seen only as an organization spots. Seeking preservation of the picture plane, assuming that the painting should look like a piece of wall that is inserted into the frame. The result is the impression of wall paintings, with their inherent to this genre calmness, restraint, serenity, contemplation (he called it "work under the mural.") Nashivochnikov wrote about the school Sidlin, but this can be attributed to his own painting, "The impression that we face an aquarium napenenny viscous medium color from objects located in it." The world, he is playing, never perceived as real, but as a closed abstract, noble and refined harmony.
