According to preliminary data - the work belongs to a Dutch painting

The picture is signed or not?

The houses and nature of the painting are typical to German landscapes. Maybe the painter was born in Germany? The town is more typical to Flemish art than village. Also the picture has sort of symbolic nature. Flemish paintings seems to me more realistic. But it is the first implication.

Performed not on the canvas, and the "piece of wood" (forgive me for my ignorance, just do not know how to properly call it).
Why has concluded that the painting belongs to the Dutch painting - described the scene as the former owner (ie, only with his words).
