Yes, it's a symbol of the company, and at the same time character Tso - the first syllable in the name of the company - which in Japanese means elephant . This is his archaic form , the very character altered beyond recognition.
The second syllable hiko - part of the name of the head in the 18th century ( Nishimura Hikobey third ), which created a beautiful dish with an elephant . Since all of the studio signed Dzohiko name . And by the way all his successors were of the same name, now head of the company - Nishimura Hikobey 9th .
