"Neo-cognized objects" in the gallery VHUTEMAS

August 31 VHUTEMAS Gallery opened an exhibition "Neo-cognized objects."

Artists - Natalia Khlebtsevich (Moscow) and Gregory Kapelyan (New York) have shown at an exhibition painting and drawing, ceramics and installation.

The earliest of the exhibited works by the artist Natalie Khlebtsevich are variations on the theme of famous experiments in ceramics Suprematist Malevich and Suetin. Graphics and painting Kapelyana Gregory presents a very interesting and original synthesis of constructivism with the organic spontaneity Filonov school.

Nail the exposure, it is a joint installation Kapelyana Khlebtsevich and "Word and Deed" in this year's nominated for Kandinsky. The wall is built of glazed bricks, which bear inscriptions. This fused pairs of words such as "night and day," "laugh or cry," "very often" frequently used by us in everyday speech. Such verbal binomials are like bricks in a masonry building of our language and thinking. In this work, the artists Kapelyan (corresponding in this case for a "word") and Khlebtsevich (probably the leading "business") have tried to achieve tangible and convincing incarnation of some important concepts that are present in our daily lives, but we have hitherto intangible. This installation also and just beautiful - illuminated from behind, colored bricks are part of the heavy masonry, and partly (not implemented by this time to the authors) hover in the air. It remains to add that these same verbal binomials are inherently independent literary work Kapelyana, recently published in his book "Out of context."
