10 great works of art affected by anger, negligence or accident.
To create masterpieces sometimes takes months and years. Artists put their projects in knowledge, creative ideas and emotions. Completed paintings are filled with meaning and, hence, the importance of subjective, value which can not be measured until at least until they are auctioned to the highest rate. Work, which we'll talk today was worth a lot of money, carried a great importance for art historians and fans, but, unfortunately, have been damaged due to careless attitude or carelessness, vandalism, or simple lack of proper storage conditions. If the creators of these art objects were alive, they would certainly have been horrified. 1. "The Fountain" (1917), Marcel Duchamp (Marcel Duchamp - Fountain) This gifted master could put the inner meaning of almost any object. The model for the "Fountain" by Duchamp urinal made white Bedfordshire, which he bought in 1917 in New York. Originally were arguing about whether an operation to works of art, since it was declared the creator of the exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists, which, in turn, refused to show this exhibit. However, in 2006 he was already estimated at $ 3.6 million. In the same year, the work has suffered at the hands of 76-year old artist, who decided to smash it with a hammer, but fought off the edge. Thirteen years earlier, when the exhibit exhibited in Nîmes (France), this person has urinated into it right at the show. Until now, work has always attracted interest. 2. "Night Watch" (1642) by Rembrandt van Rijn (Rembrandt van Rijn - Night Watch) Unfortunately, over time, "Night Watch" most needed protection. When the canvas was exhibited in the state National Museum in Amsterdam, it has been several assassination attempts. In 1911, an unemployed cook ship tried unsuccessfully to cut a picture of a knife. In 1975, the school teacher was more successful, cutting the fabric zigzag lines (subsequently it was found that the man suffered from a mental disorder, and he soon committed suicide.) And, although the picture was restored, the traces of vandalism can still be detected. In 1990, one of the visitors at the picture splashed with acid, but the guards responded quickly, and linen was saved from destruction. 3. "Danae" (1636), Rembrandt van Rijn (Rembrandt van Rijn - Danae) One of his favorite paintings by Rembrandt depicts the heroes of Greek mythology, mother of Perseus, Danae, which meets Zeus, his father. Canvas size 2.4 x3 meter was damaged in 1985 when the mad visitor Hermitage in St. Petersburg (where the picture was kept from the XVIII century), brandishing a knife, tried to cut the lower abdomen and thigh Danae. However, the dramatic situation that after he opened the jar of sulfuric acid and poured it into the picture, so that the original paint began to bubble and left the canvas. It took twelve long years to restore the picture and, fortunately, now it is again exposed. Добавлено через 6 минут 4. "Venus with the Mirror" (1647-51), Diego Velazquez (Diego Velazquez - Rokeby Venus) Velasquez was a master of realistic images of people - this is obvious when looking at the "Venus with the Mirror", on which the goddess Venus reclines on a bed in a seductive pose, looking in the mirror, which keeps her son, Cupid. In 1914, Venus was literally cut to pieces of military suffragette Mary Richardson (later became the head of the female division of British Union of Fascists), after the arrest of her ally, Emmeline Pankhrust. The woman went to the London National Gallery, despite warnings of a possible attack, and inflicted a seven cuts across almost the entire back of Venus. Richardson has received for his crime a six-month prison term. 5. "St. Anna Maria and the Christ Child "(1499-1500) Leonardo da Vinci (Leonardo da Vinci - The Virgin and Child with St Anne and St John the Baptist) Black and white sketch in charcoal and chalk, written by Da Vinci 500 years ago, also in London's National Gallery. In 1987 it was estimated at $ 35 million. Then the man tried to shoot a picture of a shotgun, intending to demonstrate their displeasure with "political, social and economic conditions in Britain." Shot damaged protective glass and caused the appearance of 6-inch hole in the guise of the Virgin. Numerous fragments of glass and pieces of paper were removed in the process of restoration, which is, however, almost always happens in such cases, and could not return to the product of an original form. 6. "Portland Vase" (30-20 years BC) by an unknown master This elegant vessel made of glass and cameos depicting figures of gods and mortals was discovered near Rome in the XVI century, after which in 1810 was transferred to a vase on the preservation of the British Museum. Hard to believe that such a fragile item would remain unscathed for so many centuries, but, nevertheless, it is. Portland vase survived other vessels in the Hellenistic era 1865-1875 years and would remain intact and continue, if not for the sad incident in 1845, when the vessel was shattered a drunken visitor to the museum. Some fragments of vases have been lost and found only a few years later, after which the vessel is understood and stuck together a few times. Recent restoration work carried out in 1988 and 1989, which helped return the Portland Vase almost original condition. 7. "The Little Mermaid" (1913) Edward Eriksen (Edvard Eriksen - The Little Mermaid) In view of the fact that the statue of "The Little Mermaid" is one of the main attractions of Copenhagen, and she repeatedly for various reasons (mostly political) suffered at the hands of vandals. In 1964, the head of the statue was stolen and cut down, after which it was manufactured and installed a new head, again stolen after some time. In subsequent years, "Little Mermaid" was deprived of his right hand, undermined with dynamite and covered all sorts of colors and shades of colors. Perhaps the "Little Mermaid" Edward Eriksen, may be called the most "long-suffering" a work of art in the world. Добавлено через 6 минут 8. Peter in the Vatican and one of the most revered works of art for religious people, and just for those who love and appreciate classical sculpture. In the entire 500-year history of "Pieta" sculpture, the most extensive damage was caused in 1972 when the statue fell geologist with a hammer and shouting "I am Jesus Christ!". Many of the fragments of statues, including the nose piece and Mary have been selected witnesses the incident, but has subsequently been returned to the cathedral. During the long restoration of the person of the Virgin was restored with the help of material taken from other parts of the statue. After the restoration of "Pieta" by Michelangelo Buanarotti was placed under the bulletproof glass. 9. "Actor" (1904) by Pablo Picasso (Pablo Picasso - The Actor) Try to think of any accident in your life that cost you a lot of money. Do you remember? Now compare your loss with a loss, which bore the Metropolitan Museum in 2010, when one of the visitors accidentally fell on the Picasso painting valued at $ 130 million. As a result of the incident on the canvas size 1.8 x2, 4 meters long, a gap of 15 cm in view of the fact that it was an accident, incident, the culprit was not punished. 10. "Dream" (1923) by Pablo Picasso (Pablo Picasso - Le Reve) "Dream" (1923) Pablo Picasso (Pablo Picasso - Le Reve) Four years before the incident with a picture of "Actor", a similar fate befell the work of Picasso's "Dream", which was a picture of the artist's mistress Marie-Therese Walter. At that time the picture was in the owner's private collection of an American casino Wynn Steve, who planned to sell "The Dream" hedge fund manager Steven Cohen. However, this did not happen. Showing a picture of the guests, Wynn, who suffers from impaired vision, accidentally tripped and fell to the canvas, breaking it into 5-centimeter hole, then decided not to sell the picture.
