The first full-scale retrospective exhibition of People's Artist of Russia Leonid Aronovich Schwartzman, timed to his 90-year anniversary.
Leonid Shvartsman - the legendary classic of animation, the author of a visual image of Cheburashka and other cartoon characters, artistic director of such publicly favorite cartoons like "The Scarlet Flower", "Golden antelope", "Snow Queen", "Varezhka" cycles cartoon Cheburashka and Crocodile Gena, "Kitten named Bow" and "38 Parrots", directed by cartoons "Garland of the kids", "gullible dragon", a film from the series "Beware of monkeys!" and many others.

The exhibition was first put together the author's sketches, sketches, storyboards and other preparatory materials to the majority of animated films and filmstrips, constituting an extensive filmography half-century artist, play dolls cartoons, including original Cheburashka dolls, Parrot, Boa, elephant and monkey, celluloid phase of the movement and scenes from the cartoon movies, illustrations of literary works ("The Overcoat" and "Portrait of Gogol, story by Green and others), paintings and other artifacts from the collections department of the State Museum of animation movies, Museum Studios Soyuzmultfilm, the artist's personal archive, and several private collections.
The exhibition will be a full retrospective of the cartoons Leonid Shvartsman. Interactive installations are planned for children and adults, workshops, lectures and meetings with prominent figures of the domestic animation - Yuri Norstein, Alexander Timofeevskiy, Stanislav Sokolov, Garry Bardin, Natalia Dabija and others.
Tapes for retrospective animated shows available Federal State Unitary Enterprise "United State movie collection." Also, a special place in the exhibition is a selection of slide shows and thumbnails for them.
At the official opening of the exhibition will learn about the new life of Cheburashka and his friends in modern Japan. Details of creating a continuing cycle of puppet films about Cheburashka tells director Makoto Nakamura.

The artist animated film, director, People's Artist of Russia Leonid (real name Israel) Aronovich Schwartzman was born August 30, 1920 in Minsk.
In 1941 he graduated from high school at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1951 - Art Department VGIK. In 1948-2001 he worked at the studio Soyuzmultfilm "first as an assistant artist in 1951 - as artistic director (until 1963 - in collaboration with AV Vinokurov), and since 1975 - now as a director. Was a member of hudsovet Soyuzmultfilm.
Worked like a cartoon, and in puppet animation, mostly with the directors of Lion Atamanova, Roman Kachanov, Ivan Ufimtseva, Ivan Aksenchukom.
Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts "Nick". Member of International Association of Animated Film (ASIICS). People's Artist of Russia (2002).
