Ukrainian painter. Born in Kiev. He studied at the Kyiv Drawing School N. Murashko of Petersburg Academy of Arts in N. Klodt. Completed a course with the title of one of the artist of the first degree . From 1889 - Academician, 1900 - Member of the Academy of Arts. One of the organizers and the head (from 1908) of the Association of Artists. A. Kuindzhi in St. Petersburg. Consistently developed in the works of Ukrainian themes , following the traditions of Russian realistic art. He also worked in watercolors.
