Default Primitive art of the peoples of Africa, Oceania, Asia

Lord forum users, I propose to speak on the topic (and even a line on the forum), which almost certainly will be interesting to everyone, and at the same time should not cause a specific dispute, namely, 0 "primitive art" the peoples of Africa, Oceania and Asia.
In my opinion, this is one of the most interesting art forms. That inspiration comes from all the vanguard of the 20 th century, from Picasso, Andre Breton, ending (it is well known that they belonged to the vast collection of African statues and massok).
This art is interesting to me, above all, the fact that Aborigines have not read any books, not taught in art schools, and did what comes from within, connected solely with their own vision and understanding of the world.
Those who are not familiar with him, can do so on the website of the French Branly Museum http://www.quaibranly.fr (more than 300 thousand exhibits with the ability to view the most part)

Who likes something, who think about it?

I do not know him, but it looks beautiful. Something so all could be an ornament of any exhibition of contemporary art, but one thing there (I can not simply switch on the site in English) does its symbol.

My entire experience with the "primitive art" is connected with the exchange of a pocket flashlight on a ring of ivory, which I made with students from Zimbabwe.
I very much wanted to give my wife something exotic. But the jewel was not appreciated by dostoitstvu, despite the fact that if I was caught red-handed, it would be regarded as "fartsovka" with foreigners.
I am afraid that I'm in this topic dweeb.

This is indeed an art, not dealers, food rations, the goodwill of the authorities, calculation, and so more interesting, last year in Maastricht for the Art Fair, I accidentally talked to some gallery owners, representing an art form. So, he, with an indescribable expression, told me that prices on this art in times greater than the rise in prices on all there Impressionists, Old Masters and others by Picasso, say, understand the people involved only primitovom. I confess, I still do not test this assertion, since most do not understand the art of Africa and Oceania.
Incidentally, a month ago, went on a rather curious exhibition in Paris, which was called "Jackson Pollock and Shamanism, where the art Pollack opposed to the art of the Eskimos. I will not say understood, but it was not boring.

Default Orientalism in the work of Alexander Yakovlev (1887-1938)

Not quite African art, but also interesting.
---------------------------------------------
"........ In 1924-1925 Yakovlev was back in the journey: passed the famous "Black cruise" firm "Sitroen" - not just an advertising campaign of similar cars, but also ethnographic and zoological expeditions to little-known regions of Africa (Sahara Sudan, Niger, Chad, the Belgian Congo, Mozambique and Madagascar). From this trip, filled with exotic landscapes and the power of human types, bright clothing and ornaments of indigenous Africans, the artist has brought nearly 300 sketches and paintings.

228 of them were showcase for the solo exhibition in the Charpentier Gallery in May 1926 and then were almost completely sold out. Yakovlev This brought not only financial independence but also the recognition, and even the Legion of Honor. especially thrilled by all contemporary large group portrait in the growth of all members of the expedition (4.5 x 3 m), remarkably illusion smallest detail - this, in particular, wrote in letters and diaries of eyewitnesses that memorable exhibition - Anna Ostroumova-Lebedev and Konstantin Somov. A year later, the publishing house "Vozhel" which constantly worked Yakovlev, left a picture book about the expedition. Then for Yakovlev finally acquired a reputation for unsurpassed master of plots and exotic ethnic types. Then followed the expedition on safari in Ethiopia in 1928 (with Henry Rothschild), and a new transcontinental trip with "Sitroen "-" Yellow Cruise "in Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Mongolia, China and Vietnam in 1931-1932, respectively. The result was a new noisy exhibition in the gallery Charpentier in 1933, where Yakovlev presented for about 500 (!) works, many of whom sold, and 50 - reproduced in color in a unique book publishing house Vozhel "edition of only 500 copies ....."

Certainly this is true, judging by the fact that quarter of Paris near the church of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, which previously focused modern art galleries, is now fully settled by the art gallery in Asia, Africa and Oceania (one "Minotaur" butt-resistant).

Forgery should be a phenomenal amount, because they do not know how in Oceania, but the whole of Africa, it seems, began to manufacture products for "white man"

It's funny This moral: Do not ask the teacher anything except what is written in the textbook (my other profession do not have to be translated, but for his naivete highest honors I paid the price).
