3 vols
Sumptuous illustrated edition of early XX century. In a fascinating pictorial form author gives a description of manners, especially relations between men and women of different ages and peoples.
German scientist, writer and politician Eduard Fuchs (1870-1940) kept the fame thanks largely to his "Illustrated history of manners." Attract the reader's attention first and foremost the rich factual and illustrative material of the book, the researcher collected, but some of its approaches and the findings may seem naive: after the author finished his work for more than 80 years ago. But even with the height of modern knowledge and understanding we can not estimate the Herculean efforts of E. Fuchs for "excavation" of historical sources, gave an invaluable set of interesting information about the manners of different times and peoples.
