По умолчанию Claude Monet's "Dans La Prairie"

Painting by Claude Monet "Dans La Prairie" ( "In the meadow") on February 4 was sold at Christie's auction in London for 11.2 million pounds sterling (about 16,2 million U.S. dollars). Prior to bidding the work of Monet, established in 1876, was estimated at 15 million pounds (about $ 22 million).
Painting is a textbook example of Impressionist paintings.
The canvas, which shows Camille Monet, the artist's first wife, reading a book in the middle of the flowering plants in the vicinity Arzhanteya, not exhibited since 1957. He was last shown at the exhibition in the gallery Tate. Since then it changed a few owners.

The current record for Monet painting of 80,5 million dollars, it was installed in London on June 24, 2008, when the hammer went "lilies. A month earlier, the railway bridge at Argenteuil "was sold for 41,4 million dollars.

Unlike Monet, a double portrait of Amadeo Modigliani "Les deux filles" ( "two daughters") was sold more expensive than anticipated. When Estimé 3,5-5,5 million pounds in the final price of the lot was 6.5 million pounds.

Among the other most significant auction of lots was a painting by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, "L'abandon (Les deux amies)" ( "Two Friends"), sold for 6.2 million pounds, and the early work of members of the "Nabis" Edouard Vuillard " Les couturieres "(" dressmaker ") that went under the hammer for £ 5 million - slightly below the preliminary assessment.
