Hero of Trafalgar, Nelson Restored oak
Oaks, planted on the orders of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, more than 200 years ago, will go to the restoration of the battleship Victoria, commanded by Nelson defeated the combined Franco-Spanish fleet off Cape Trafalgar in 1805.
A decision to ensure the restoration work authentic wood was taken command of the Royal Navy, the Society for the Exploration of Navigation, which manages charitable foundation "Save the Victory", and the Forestry Commission.
The current commander of the battleship, the captain of the second rank, Frank Novosilski old hammer blows given to the museum of history Dinsky forest, mark two oak destined for slaughter.
"Victory" was founded in 1759 and served for 34 years. Its construction has gone 6,000 trees. 90%of them were oaks.
