Thank you experts for your condideration. Please forgive me if this is long but I hope you understand. My Icon is written by Victor Vasnetsov. I do not wish to discuss attribution (unless experts want) but only valuation. The Icon is oil and guilding on cradled wood panel 40cm x 26.5 x 2.6. The Icon was examined by experts at the Denver Art Museum (X-ray, X-ray florescence, spectrum analysis). Conclusion is a "fully realized study" of the main apse of the St. Vladimir Cathedral in Kiev and dated 1885-95 (
www.icon-art.info/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3183 see comment #22122). Icon was vandalized prior to export in 2004, signature was scatched off. I have also included comparative photos from a Tretyakov catalogue (see:
www.icon-art.info/phpBB2//viewtopic.php?p=5445). Considering all my questions are:
1. What is value if 1885-95 is correct?
2. What is value if date is 1912?
3. What is value if Icon was commissioned by Empress Alexandra for the coronation of Nicholas II (Icon lacks halos which might be for the benefactor of the Vladimir Cathedral)?
I appreciate and look forward to your consideration.
