One of the organizers and member of the " Genesis " (1921) , a member of AHRR ( 1924-1931 ), RAPHa (1931-1932 ). Author of paintings on historical-revolutionary and patriotic themes , the book schedule , a theater artist . He headed the Central Moscow studio of military- political poster , " TASS Windows " (1941-1946 ). In 1954, directed the work on recreating the pan , FA Roubaud "Defense of Sevastopol ." People's Artist of RSFSR (1956 ), member and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of the USSR ( 1949), twice winner of the Stalin Prize (1942, 1949). Works PP Sokolov- Skalya kept in the Tretyakov Gallery, timing and other major museums in this country and abroad
