The Moscow show opens work in 1901, Carlos Kasahemas in the coffin.
Kasahemos was a close friend of Pablo in Barcelona, two of them rented a studio at 17, Riera de San Juan, jointly participated in
poster competition for the Carnival, preparing a solo exhibition of Carlos Cafe 4 cats, where it opened March 26, 1900. Also, two of them published in the journal on the art of Barcelona.
In January 1901 they both went to Malaga, the birthplace of Pablo and his uncle Salvador to borrow money to buy their way out of military service. I was astonished by it all the neglect of family members, clothing, demeanor, visiting brothels and drinking. Carlos overdid it with alcohol and Pablo asked his uncle to give money and sent Carlos in Paris. This was the last time he saw his friend alive.
 February 17, Kasahemos, because it rejected the love of Germany shoots himself in the temple in front of friends and Germany in the Café de l'Hippodrome, Boulevard de Clichy, Montmartre, Paris. Still alive, he was taken to hospital Bishot, where he died in the night 11-30. Picasso learned about this, being in Madrid.
The death of Carlos is deeply shocked Pablo. It is one thing - the aging uncle and aunt in Malaga, the other closest friend, with whom they were going to conquer the world. He was depressed and as he wrote, precisely because of the death Kasahemasa he began to write in blue, appeared depressed blue period from which he emerged only two years later. This death has made him one of the most cheerful artist in history. After that he never allowed himself to fall into depression and despair and move it to the canvas.
