Natalya Nesterova continuously reflects upon the fundamentals of intellectual, cultural and metaphysical development. She explores the connection and disconnection between mental perception and the objective world as a central issue in the religious life of humanity. She uses masks in religious depiction which are icons of identity and indices of identity transformation either displayed, hidden or revealed, as in Last Supper. Alexandra Anderson-Spivy wrote about Nesterova's works, “In the New Testament paintings, among them Last Supper, Nesterova further eradicates personal identity and ritualizes facial expression by covering all the faces with commedia dell-arte masks. The masks simultaneously convey different expressions and repress individuality while suggesting that humanity just keeps on laying different roles in the same play. In Nesterova’s New Testament series, Jesus is an actor and Christianity’s central story has been transformed into evocative repertory theatre.” (From Natalya Nesterova: Cautionary Tales, The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.)

Что касается цен, то тенденция роста на Нестерову началась года три назад, и я не думаю, что в ближайшее время что-то изменится, поскольку художник неплохой и ниже определенного уровня обычно не опускается.
