At the end of 1949 the park has collected almost all the work made over the last four years, and took them to the city dump. This rejection of abstract expressionism (but not from the "action painting") was the first step on the park towards a very personal style - he knew that this style requires a return to figurative painting, to make the painting "The continuation of the human eizni.
The reaction of his colleagues in his early figurative work has been rather negative - they thought it was a step back, that Park "funked" does not stand the strain (see one of the works of Park, Dibenkorn exclaimed: "Lord, what happened to David!") .
At the same time having financial difficulties - after the dismissal Hessela Smith Bischoff and Park resigned in protest. He began casual work - he drew posters for stores, etc., but his wife agreed that he should not waste his talent on such nonsense, and went to work herself, which enabled him to devote himself to painting.
Soon Dibenkorn and Bischoff fell under his influence, learned his ideas. Henceforth, these three artists are inextricably linked.
