Edvard Munch exhibition in Paris Pinakothek
Paris Pinakothek, which gave an unusual exhibition called "Edvard Munch, or Antikrik", decided to acquaint visitors with pictures, written in different periods of the artist's life.
The exhibition opened last Friday in the exhibition room on the Place de la Madeleine. "We want to show the audience another Munch", - said at the opening day of the exhibition Commissioner Dieter Bushhart.
"The picture" Scream ", which exists in several versions, was written by a painter at the moment of despair - like director Mark Pinakothek Restelini. - Munch told how one day during a walk in the sky turned crimson, and thus heard a never-ending cry. However, the overall work of Munch was not as "delusional". He was avant-garde artists, who used in his works, photograph, kinetic elements, and movies.
The exhibition features 175 works by the artist, including about fifty oil paintings and many prints, created in different periods. Most of the exhibits came from private collections in different countries (Mexico, United States, European Union).
Munch's art lovers have a rare opportunity to see his work gathered under one roof. According to Dieter Bushharta, about a quarter of the exhibited works never before shown to the public. In France, the works of Edward Munch's very little (Musée d'Orsay, Pompidou Center).
Munch believed that "everything is permeated with the movement" and that "in a simple stone you can see the fire of life". The exhibition shows the great importance attached to the painter photos.
The last major exhibition of Munch was in 1991 at the Museum d'Orsay, it was called "Munch and France.
Now we are working on the preparation of a new exhibition of the Norwegian artist. It will be devoted to "modern eye" Munch and will open in a Pompidou Center in autumn 2011.
