In 1930-40 gg. Bischoff developed in his work the idea of synthetic cubism and surrealism.
In 1947 at the Palace of the Legion of Honor San Francisco, he had his first personal exhibition.
In 1952, Bischoff in protest against the dismissal of Clifford Still left the High School of the Arts in California and moved to Marysville, where he taught at a local college. It was in these years, he has moved from abstraction to figurative painting (he called this transition "crown a love story"), which he developed in his work over the next twenty years.
In the works of this period Bischoff "action painting", a relic of abstraction, connected with the use of emotional and psychological capabilities and subject matter of painting.
