Petrovich - one of the most significant painters in Russia in the first half of the twentieth century, continued in their works the traditions of Russian landscape school. His teachers were the great Russian masters of Isaac Levitan and Apollinari Vasnetsov. Throughout his life the artist was a follower of the chamber, "intimate" of the landscape, which is characterized by lyricism, the desire to transfer variable. momentary states of nature and light-air environment. Petrovichev used in painting, and many techniques of Impressionism: he wrote in a free manner, a broad stroke texture, vivid rich colors, reaching the impression of immediacy, "living" nature of perception. In addition, his works are imbued with peacefully contemplative mood, which is peculiar and works of his teacher Levitan. Favorite motifs of the artist's works were early spring, sunset, native of Rostov the Great, the interiors of old mansions and ancient cathedrals.
