OPENING OF THE MONUMENT AS PUSHKIN the Philippines, Manila


January 29, 2010 in Manila, the Philippines, was inaugurated monument to the great Russian poet AS Pushkin (Bronze, height-250cm.).

Author of the monument - the world-famous sculptor Gregory Potocki, by monuments, AS Pushkin in Russia, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Republika Srpska, the Republic of Ghana, Egypt, China, USA and Canada.

At the opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Philippines, the governor and the mayor of Manila, the President of the Parliament of the Philippines Juan Ponce Enrile, former president of the parliament Manny Villar, who in 2009 visited the studio of the sculptor, and as a result of the meeting had the idea to establish a monument to A. S. Pushkin monument in Manila and the Philippine national hero, poet José Risale in Moscow, as well as sign an agreement stating that Moscow and Manila have become sister cities, also attended by the creative and the political elite of the Philippines.

More than 20 years, Gregory said Potocki Birthday AS Pushkin's and Lyceum day of the poet in his gallery, where in this day heard of the great poems of the poet, Russian and gypsy songs, classical music of the XIX century in the performance of the leading artists of Russia. Each year to celebrate the birthday of the great poet join new artists, those who share a love of Russian poetry and works of Alexander Sergeyevich directly.

It is symbolic that the opening of the monument took place on January 28, the day when the great Russian poet AS Pushkin farewell to his wife, children, close friends ...

In memory of the great poet, we opened a monument in the city of Manila. This is the first cultural project, the installation of the monument, AS Pushkin from Russia - the Philippines, 34 years of diplomatic relations between our countries.

Each new monument to Pushkin is not like the previous one. And yet - is Pushkin. Height sculpture 2,5 m, but Pushkin looks the way it was in reality. The proportions of both guessed that create a genuine image of the poet. The internal impulse, dynamics, in contradiction with the fact that it rests on a reed, creates an entirely unexpected effect. This aspiration is not forward and upward to the stars! He relies not so much as pushing off with his cane on the ground. Cane as an artistic element is almost not used in the sculpture "Pushkiniane", but it is an important and characteristic detail for understanding the image of the poet. Emotional decision image in a monument so accurately conveys Pushkin, and some seemingly inaccurate forms, further reinforces the impression that we Pushkin.

International activities of the Academy of kindness, sculptor Gregory Potocki aimed at strengthening peace, friendship and cultural relations between our countries. We hope that with the installation of the monument to Pushkin in the Philippines and the monument to Jose Risale in Moscow between Russia and the Philippines will become closer and it will launch an active bilateral relations.
