Poster graph belongs to one of the most common species of fine art. A special page in the history of its development has entered a Soviet political poster, the task of visual propaganda and agitation. Beginning in 1919 with the famous "Window satire growth," poster peaking political acuity and a high level of art during World War II, when to replace the symbolic, deliberately simplified came posters realistic, emotional, drew lucid, lively image of a man with a vivid psychological characteristics . Responding to the principal and characteristic events of the time, posters of the Great Patriotic called for defense of the homeland, convinced of the justice of the liberation struggle. The largest centers of mass editions of posters in 1941-1945 were the Moscow and Leningrad branch of the state publishing house "Art".
The exhibition at the CHA submitted sketches and artwork posters, executed in different techniques: ink, gouache, tempera, watercolor. The main themes of these art works - fighting the Red Army and the heroic labor of workers in the rear. Their authors - well-known Soviet graphic artists of those years: P. Gorbunov, N. Kochergin, N. Ignatiev, V. Slyschenko, L. Torich. Responding to the call of the wartime "Everything for the front, everything for victory, despite the extremely difficult living conditions in the besieged Leningrad during the regular bombings and starvation, they have created a gallery of vivid, memorable images.
The most striking the viewer in a poster siege of Leningrad particular, household and, moreover, a sharp satirical thrust of texts and images. From the ordinary, natural allegations: "Know, coat, well-tailored - the soldiers protection from the cold ..." and pictures with our professional staff, with a sewing machine and coat in hand, to the unexpected rhymes and illustrations, done in the laconic style of the Leningrad School of linocuts.

The second part of the exhibition introduces the viewer to the Front-gritty of those who heroically fought in the Second World War. Pilot-attack Alexander Zenin made 165 sorties, during which the person has destroyed dozens of units of the enemy military equipment and about 800 soldiers and officers. Five times during the reconnaissance flights, he was shot down, burned in a plane and survived. During the war AI Zenin twice was nominated for the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. However, it turned out that the pilot received the Star of the Hero, only in 1994 year. Currently in Moscow, Old Arbat Street, house number 23, where he was born and lived a hero, a memorial plaque. His name is engraved on the headstone of the Pantheon of Glory on Poklonnaya Hill in the Hall of Heroes.
