Artist at all times Vruyr Galstyan

It was in 1960. Fortunately, relapses do not recur. In 1964, the 40-year old Vruyr graduated from the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theater Institute. Art Vruyr outwardly unattractive or some outside reading the story, nor claim to innovation, but it is valuable that authenticity, which is not very frequent, and eventually wins over time. Each stroke of the artist contains the nerve of experience, the desire to fully express themselves. Under each picture Vruyr several paintings completed and acceptable to us, the spectators, but not for him - the imperturbable, is extremely demanding for themselves and their colleagues. Continuing satisfied, he scrape a palette knife thick paste-like layers of paint. But it was impossible to stop. And, apparently, was right artist, constantly demanding more from himself. Vruyr was uninteresting companion, but the unique practice in the field of painting - it only focused all his will, powerful energy, skill, talent. Vruyr was natural to the extreme, devoid of the slightest falsehood, easy to communicate, never stood in a pose, look nerespektabelno, messily, with some lazy, but something unusual, weighty felt in his appearance. Even photographs can feel the significance of his appearance. He was a true worker, artisan, like Cezanne, Van Gogh, Picasso and Braque, far from the dashing operetta dudes posing for artists, most of the time performing in cafes and pontificating about the latest trends, directions and concepts.
Vruyr was not in the textbook heroes time in which he lived, and quietly became a hero for all time. Before his easel, he was transformed into a knight, winning new castles and bastions. He never wanted to be a leader, while remaining a lone knight. The image of the sad gentleman accompanied him all his life. He himself was in a sense, was Don Quixote. It was easier to communicate with the heroes of his canvases, rather than with many of his contemporaries, colleagues, related to it, at best condescending. Very few people in his life felt and appreciated this unique person and artist ...
I knew from the beginning and tried to reassure Vruyr, often repeated that when his life did not bother the attention it deserves. Art historian William Meyland indignantly said: "None of his numerous self-portraits was not represented at the State Tretyakov Gallery in the exhibition" Self-Portrait ", it generally is not well known outside of Yerevan, and nobody except Saryan and Siqueiros, has not said yet about him good and exact words. He paid homage to Van Gogh, but never tried to imitate him. It does not amount to some biographical facts. Creativity Vruyr Galstyan closed in itself and will remain so. Hence the lack of understanding of many natural processes that continually progressed and evolved.
