Alexander Young Jackson
Born in 1882 in Montreal, Quebec. He died in 1974 in Kleynburge in the province of Ontario. AY Jackson studied painting at the Edmond Dione in art school, established in Art - Industry Council of Montreal. From 1906 to 1907. He worked as a painter - graphic in one of the Chicago companies engaged in the manufacture of lithographs. Since 1914, he fought in the First World War. In 1916 he was wounded and a year later, having recovered from his wounds, he became a military painter. In 1920, Jackson has created a number of works during his stay in the area Dzhordzhian Bay, participated in the first exhibition organized by the artists who formed part of''the Group of Seven,''for which he had joined. In the same year he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Jackson traveled to Quebec. He visited the areas located in the lower reaches of the river St. Lavrenov, been in a picturesque corner of Quebec - Charlevoix. He also traveled extensively throughout Canada, traveled to the farthest corners of the country. Jackson was a prolific artist, he created many paintings and sketches, and continued to do until the end of his days.
