Zhansem
In one of the small private galleries, koimi famous Yerevan, is a long-awaited exhibition and sale of works of Armenian Frenchman Jansem. In Paris he is recognized as one of the brightest contemporary artists. In Armenia, he was known as a party to the permanent exhibition "PAY", which gave Zhansem dozens of his works, illustrating mainly the victims of the worst tragedies in the history of the people. But in the current exhibition there is no hint that the artist knows what genocide.
In the gallery "Ram" is available from 43 works of artists, mostly lithographs. Muse Jansem - half-naked woman. She is a dancer, then a model, then the girl in tulle, then bored in a Parisian cafe ... great connoisseur of female nature presented it in different situations, but always elegant and light.
Zhansem (Hovhannes Semerjian) was born in 1920 in Turkey, and spent his childhood in Greece, but later moved and settled in France. His work is regularly exhibited since 1944. Already in the 50's he was awarded the prestigious European awards. Today, his works are in major museums around the world, they are actively interested in the serious collectors.
New Zhansem visited Armenia in 1973, and in 2001 he gave the "PAY" 34 works from the cycle of "genocide". In "Ram" Zhansem stay until April 5.
