"Take the old miller's stick, her head bent slightly from the friction of the hands of the miller's all polished, but still with sweat, she took a deep amber color. A person with imagination, looking at the head of the stick, you'll see a whole swarm of images, memories,
associations.
Next, go to a haberdashery shop and ask the factory stick - no way, dumb stick. That is why every piece of archeological
leaves so many impressions. In these subjects have the time and someone's soul. "
Joseph Karalyan
Creativity Karalyan - a sort of poignant nostalgia for the country of childhood, which can be visited only in dreams and imagination, because it no longer exists, because the childhood of every man and his era as a unique, unforgettable experience endured, they remain visible only in fine arts . Thus, Karalyan brought to the Armenian painting a new genre - a genre of memoirs, in the future has found its followers in the face Hakob Ananikyan and Vagharshak Elibekyana and exactly the same as in literature, memoirs works are valued, they are equally justified and logical in the visual arts. The more valuable works of man, stepped from the era of carts and kerosene lamps in the beginning of the space age and managed with the height of his space to look into the past.
Karalyan - artist content, he never formally applies to the subject of the image, the shape is dictated by the plot, motive, where he stops. This basic dignity of his works, other than deep imagery, giving a memorable description of each of the tracks individually. Past for Karalyan not separate episodes, scenes poluistlevshiye memories, this is a continuous chain of facts, flowing into a single unique artistic image. All artist's work in general consists of separate and distinct, but closely related to the common leitmotif, short stories, included in one big book of life. Each story in isolation is the artistic value, but it is doubly significant in the overall context of his work. The artist has managed to preserve for posterity an interesting page biography of his own people, which is inextricably linked his whole life.
