Born in 1914 in Kirzhach Vladimir region. He lived in Moscow and then in Moscow. From childhood he loved to draw: copy pictures of artists with postcards and wrote rustic landscapes. Before the war, sold its picturesque oilcloth on Tishinsky and Sukharevskaya markets in Moscow. Following retirement devoted himself entirely to painting. Since the late 80-ies participated in all major exhibitions of naive art. His works were presented at the International exhibition of naive art "INSITA" in Bratislava (Slovakia). Member of a traveling exhibition of the Museum of naive art "images of Pushkin in the works of naive artists of Russia", exhibited in 1999 in nine cities of Russia and in Cannes (France), Palais des Festivals. The works are in the State house of Russia's folk art, museum-Tsaritsino, the Museum of naive art in Moscow, in private collections in Russia and abroad.
