Born in 1953 in Moscow. Artist, art critic and publicist.
In 1976 - 83 member group "Collective Action", in 1982 - one of the organizers and director of the gallery "APTART".
The works in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, Russian Museum, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow House of Photography, the Museum of Other Art RGGU (a collection of Leonid Talochkin), Zimmerly Museum (Rutgers University, USA), Museum of Duke University (USA), Museum of Modern Art, Oklahoma City (USA), Kupfershtihkabineta (National Gallery, Berlin), in private collections.
Collaborated with the magazine "Itogi" and "Weekly Journal" in 1996 - 2005 - Head of the department of culture of the newspaper "iNOSTRANETs", now a columnist in "Russian Journal" and a member of the journals "ArtChronika" and "Art".
In 2004, Fellow of the Office of the Arts of the city of Dusseldorf and the Fund of Joseph Brodsky (American Academy in Rome).
