Since 1877 he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, then in France. He took lessons at the Repin. Member of the first exhibition of art works in Simbirsk, which were presented portraits and landscapes of the artist. From 1897 to 1907 he lived and worked in Samara, a workshop was on Baptist Street in the house Pozhidaeva, participated in art exhibitions. At the exhibition in 1907 exhibited a portrait of his wife Bight Maria Feodorovna, in 1907 moved to the Crimea, he settled in Simferopol, where in 1910 organized a solo exhibition in the exhibition which included 143 works. In 1922 he left the Crimea in Archangel, then in St. Petersburg.
