Takashi Murakami
Takashi Murakami was born in 1962 in Tokyo. His debut as an artist and designer was held in 1991. That year was his solo exhibition "Takashi, Tamiya." In 1994, Takashi won the grand Rockefeller Foundation and was invited for this program in New York, where he soon opened his own studio. Shortly Takashi returned to Japan. He founded an organization that helps young designers, as well as factory Kaikai Kiki, producing products of its label. In 1998, Murakami was appointed professor of Art Academy of UCLA. He now lives and works in Japan and Paris.
