I think in the pricing structure AlexanderG makes sense. Indeed much is built on personal relationships the artist - gallery owner if the "contact" is that prices will increase to the satisfaction of all parties. In my small experience I can assure that sell more still better than nothing. It is difficult sometimes to talk to the mediators who are trying to have the artist's cheaper to buy and then resell the much more expensive and if it does not work, bring down prices and the reputation of the artist.
