Pinchuk has established a prize of 100 thousand dollars for the best young artist
Ukrainian billionaire Viktor Pinchuk has announced the creation of a new prize for artists under 35 years, reported Bloomberg. The award of 100 thousand dollars will be presented every two years, artists from around the world can apply from January 18, 2010. Portfolio 20 finalists will be exhibited in the gallery PinchukArtCentre Kiev in October 2010. Winners of the five holders of "consolation" prize of 20 thousand dollars will be announced in December.
The jury award The Future Generation Art Prize will himself Pinchuk, four have already received a well-known artists, the American collector Eli Broad, singer and composer Elton John, designer Miuccia Prada, director of the New York Museum of Modern Art, Glenn Lowry and Guggenheim Museum director Richard Armstrong.
