Congress in Kirillovskaya, found the senior art critic, found the following:
1) Tombstone cry no oil painting and fresco. Frescoes of the XII century, which survived were roschischeny from painting the eighteenth and поновлены in 1884.

2) In the vestibule (narthex), aisles and arches remained many murals, because the artist was obliged to maintain a common style (yes its special, no one asked, he was 28 years old and he was hired to work)
By the way the church there are a few stories authorship Vrubel not like his hand (to the Archangels arches, "Entering Jerusalem"). That is, the lower level, so to speak, hand Vrubel to which we are accustomed to only see four icons in the marble iconostasis, which he wrote separately. I must tell you that it is amazing! Watch these masterpieces to complete the experience, if someone goes to look, always with the height of choirs! So just upstairs in the gallery, the XII century frescoes have been lost because the artist was forced to become attached to them and could be more artistic freedom which he did, so we have a truly Vrubel's "Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles"

3) None of the specialists (art historians, and there were quite a few) who worked in the church in all that time did not occur to him to question the authorship Vrubel work on "Tombstone cry" in the niche arkasoliya, since in this respect there are plenty of archival documents and they are all in complete (in the church until now a museum)

Here's my little report, if anything, helped, I'm glad! А всем участвующим в споре спасибо за то что подтолкнули меня посетить такое место , давно собирался да все времени ... Well as always

P.S. The first three photos - M. Vrubel, the fourth-century fresco XII.
Thank you for the report, not for nothing went. Now it is clear that the painting Lamentation of a hand Vrubel, but it is unclear how much was lost the previous mural, most likely composition, color and pattern he maintained, that is why we do not know. It is with this fresco Vrubel worked as a restorer, but with Descent as the author, these nuances are ignored, and yet restorer can not be the author or co-author. In fairness the author is a 12 in the artist.
