Well ... I'm just Amateur, but not a deep expert on Art Nouveau . Yes, I agree, at your icon you can see the elements of Art Nouveau. Generally, boards Veronica readily depicted by artists who worked in this style. I saw the picture, very similar to you, on the ceiling of the church in Balingste (Balingsta kyrka) 20 km SW of Uppsala (Sweden). Author - artist Philip Monsson Filip Månsson (1864 - 1933), which is often painted and renovated by painting in the ancient church, in doing so, as it is now cautiously expressed, "with elements of Art Nouveau. Unfortunately, the picture of this painting I have not been preserved, on the Internet I also could not find it. But there is a photo of his painting of the altar from another church - in Alsike (Alsike kyrka). The church was built at the end of the XIII century, but the ancient murals have been preserved only fragmentary, and were supplemented Monssonom in 1910 - 11 years. The descriptions says that they contain "elements of modernism." Judge for yourself whether this is (for me personally, there are these elements - enough to swear). Interestingly, the altar of the body, whose form though and makes an impression architecture of the modern age, in fact original, ie preserved since the construction of the church. And the left side of photo on top of the column is visible floral designs. Faded slightly blurred. This - the remains of an ancient painting of the XV century. In my opinion, they more modern than in the paintings Monssona.
