Christie's auction exposes on Tuesday, November 24, to bid the first edition of Charles Darwin's work "The Origin of Species. For a long time was released in 1859, the book was kept in the locker guest toilet in the house in the south of Britain.
It is assumed that the cost of the publication will reach 100 thousand dollars.

The owner of the book, whose name was not reported to have bought it about 40 years ago for a small amount and was unaware of its historical value, reported Agence France-Presse. Decision on exhibiting work on the evolution was accepted by his brother-owner of the book, which saw a similar publication for the exhibition devoted to Darwin.

Total in 1859 was issued about 1250 copies of the work of Darwin, who bore the full title "The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life." In subsequent editions the title was shortened to The Origin of Species.

November 24 will be exactly 150 years since the publication of work of the English naturalist. All first edition of the book was sold out in one day, and subsequently "The Origin of Species" been reprinted.

Copies of the first edition of The Origin of Species "are rare and are usually sold for large sums. The last time this book put up for tender in May 2009 and has sold more than 50 thousand dollars.
