December 17 in Moscow gallery "Triumph" will host an exhibition of recent works by Damien Hirst, one of the most expensive contemporary artists, RIA Novosti reported. It will be presented a series of "The Dead" (The Dead) - 30 pictures of a human skull in different colors. Images are made in the technique of two-color foil and printed on paper. Series "Dead" was unveiled to the public in 2009 in London.
The Moscow exhibition will run until January 15, 2010. In "Triumph" has already brought Hirst: in 2006 the gallery was closed exhibition "New Religion" devoted to the reinterpretation of Christian symbols. Subsequently, it was reported that the display was entirely bought by Russia's collector.
Hurst has repeatedly appealed to the skull in his works: in 2007, a diamond-encrusted platinum skull titled "For the love of God" was sold for 50 million pounds (about $ 100 million). In 2009, the artist announced that he rejected a traditional installations (including pickled in formaldehyde dead animals), because they have ceased to shock anyone.
