Likely that gabelene scene depicts the death of rebel leader George Greek Karaiskakis Stadium (1782 - 1827)
He was the son of the captain of the Greek Police (armatolov) in the Turkish service. Since the militia detachments set up by the Turkish regime in the most dangerous and inaccessible areas and recruited mainly from local armed gangs (kleftov) - no wonder the Karaiskakis Stadium has quickly become one of the leaders of a bandit group. At age 15, he was captured by soldiers of Ali Pasha of Yanina, and fired at the fact so impressed that he was appointed commander of the guard. A few years later, however, Karaiskakis Stadium went out of favor and fled into the mountains, where he again led the gangster squad.
When the Greek uprising broke out, the Greek Government has decided to appoint Karaiskakis Stadium in June 1826 Chief of the mainland. He managed to prevent the retreat Mustabeya after his victory at Atalanta, while the victory in Arachova Karaiskakis Stadium on the night of December 6, 1826 is among the most brilliant achievements of the Greek War of Independence.
