According to our source in the company that owns the pharmacy Gajewski, conducted in April, work is unlikely to have the goal to conserve the current condition of the building as it was officially announced at the time Head of Cultural Heritage Protection of Odessa Oblast State Administration Natalia Shterbul. Nevertheless, some positive effect from this has turned out - sometimes reinforced roof, floors, door and window openings, and through forests, and they stretched grid, the building gets a little less water in the rain than before.
The opinion of experts who conducted a survey of the building to determine the volume and cost of reconstruction works, sounds like a death sentence. Foundation "floated" and as a result of house slowly diverges into two parts - which can be seen on the turret and skewed gap over the arch. Coquina-stone, from which are formed by bearing walls, under the influence of more than a century old and worn out water to the limit. Wooden floors are rotted and need replacing. The roof should be completely changed.
Disassemble and rebuild
And in general, reconstruction is possible in two variants. Both are very expensive.
First - out all along the pebble and build anew. Thus, it is now "restored" hotel "Spartacus" at Deribasovskaya - it was demolished and, God willing, someday something in its place so built.
The second option - to keep the facade and front wall, and everything else to build anew, with a modern layout, in which the old configuration will only have stair opening. This so-called "Leningrad" method of restoration, which was reconstructed, and several houses in Odessa, for example, the one on the corner of Deribasovskaya and Richelieu.
Alas, it seems, money for the reconstruction of houses Russova no one and did not seem to be. Also referred to a hundred thousand more to it this year were not allocated a penny - the crisis has consumed the budgets of all levels. As of 2010, no one knows how they got the budget will be. Plans for reconstruction are, but is unlikely to find moolah to have restored a handsome house on the joy of Odessa.
