Found Multi base of quotations:
"The model for the young harlequin is probably the same one who posed for The Organ-Grinder (XII. 22)" (cf. Daix & Boudaille 1966)

"Picasso modeled the same person in one of his early sculptures: Head of a Jester, bronze, H. 41 cm., Cast for Ambroise Vollard in 1905 (ZI 322)" (cf. Daix & Boudaille 1966).

Picasso at this time lived not very far from the Paris circus, and it deeply impressed him.

Daix-compiler of the official catalog of Picasso and the largest special on a blue-pink period. If he writes that Picasso was a model, and he wrote them on the Multi base again, then that was it. And who they were, the real circus, or the kid next door, probably did not know.
For myself I consider the issue closed.
