A special section of the exhibition are paintings by Konstantin Gorbatov (1876-1945) - known in the pre-revolutionary Russia landscape painter, who left Russia in 1922. Istra museum holds a large collection of his paintings and records provided by a bequest of the artist in the Soviet Union in Berlin in 1964.

Being always a Russian artist, shortly before the Second World War Gorbatov wrote in a letter-testament: "I am writing a letter to the tragic moment when death threatens everyone who lives in Berlin. After the war, I ask all of my pictures. .. send to the Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad, let her do as will fit. Of fate, that the works of Konstantin Gorbatov (more than 100 paintings and graphic works) and its archive in 1964 were transferred from the GDR in the Museum "New Jerusalem" (at that time, Moscow Regional Museum).
