По умолчанию Lost a Hyman Bloom

In New Hampshire on the 97-th year of life, died one of the most famous American artists.

Hyman Bloom fond of spiritualism and was convinced that it is possible to communicate with the dead. They appear on his canvases: http://www.hymanbloom.com/
soul, escaping from the bodies raskromsannyh on anatomical tables, polurazmytye person in the streams of light, demonic profiles, prostrate out of nowhere hands-half people poluzverey. Bloom's story is known that in 1939 he suffered a traumatic spiritual experience - a clash with the "cosmic consciousness", a sudden sense of belonging to a constant but ever changing and immortal.

Hyman Bloom was searching for the truth of the meetings of the Society for Psychical Research "in the books of Helena Blavatsky, in psychedelic drugs in the Chinese mysticism and Vedanta. But the main source of inspiration for him was the religion of ancestors - the Hasidim, who came from Russia Empire. Hyman Bloom was born in a village near the current Latvian-Lithuanian border, and a child was going to become a rabbi. On the set of his paintings depicted rabbis and cantors from the scrolls of the Torah. But Bloom explained that he was an agnostic and draws himself unfulfilled - imaginary spiritual twins.

In the early 1940's, when the fashion was a group of Boston Expressionists, Hyman Bloom called the best American artist and even the most famous artist in the world. He admired the works of Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock, it was compared with Francis Bacon, Lucien Freud and Kandinsky, but Hyman Bloom chose glory privacy. He refused to give interviews, did not like to sell paintings and rarely let visitors into his studio. His closest friends were the composer Alan Hovhannes and artist-mystic Ermon di Giovanna, also looking for (and, perhaps, and have found) the keys to the beyond world. A new wave of interest in the works of Hyman Bloom started in early XXI century. The artist died on August 26, 2009, before reaching the two weeks before the opening of the New York exhibition, entitled "Spiritual embrace."
