Specialists scientific Restoration Workshop "Fresco" began studying destroyed during the Great Patriotic War, the Church of the Archangel Michael in a frying pan 14 th century, located in the vicinity of Novgorod.
Even last year Skovorodsky hill looked running to start the study had to cut the bushes and restore order. We have continued to work - experts are clearing the temple walls of the Archangel Michael from the outside. Among the first finds of the window grilles - this is allowed to judge the height and width of the openings. Then it was discovered, and fragments of frescoes, apparently, a powerful explosion knocked paintings off the walls and partially thrown outside the church.
On the plates with restorers about 500 fragments skovorodskoy painting, until they cleaned - found 15 are joined to each other parts. And this is - just a beginning. In the next 2 seasons specialists hope to extract from the land all the fragments of old plaster and re-lay 300 square meter image 14 - early 15 centuries.
Continue to work and to restore fresco of the Assumption Church in Volotovo field. This year has brought new successes - on the walls of the church restored several ancient tracks. Collect a huge mosaic - continues.
Which songs will take place in the Church of the Assumption next summer - so far hard to say. To date, the best is the selection of fragments of frescoes from the altar of the temple.
